GYROKINESIS® is a mat-only workout that uses rhythmic and undulating movements that stimulate the body’s internal organs.
Fluidity is maintained throughout as postures are smoothly connected through the use of breath rather then held for long periods of time.
Seven natural elements of spinal movement are used to work on the entire body: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular, as well as all other joint articulation.

What a GYROKINESIS® class consists of:
- Self-massage. Class typically begins with with self-massage and breathing exercises aimed at preparing your body for movements as well as awakening your senses.
- Seated on a stool. A series of fluid movements from the seated position will mobilize the spine. Arching, curling, bending, twisting and spiraling will all be apart of these movements.
- Floor work. Whether it’s from a kneeling, standing or seated position, the focus will be on various joint and muscle groups. Breathing patterns accompany the movements to stimulate the nervous system.
- Advanced. You can challenge yourself as you become more familiar with the exercises using advanced training methods.
