Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis

Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic Eugene
GYROTONIC® uses the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, a specially designed series of exercise equipment built around the human body with all regards to total freedom in movement. It uses the body to go beyond its limitations.GYROTONIC® exercises increase the functional capacity of the entire organism in a harmonious way.

GYROTONIC® is all about rhythm as your movement and breathing creates harmony and fluid circulation.

The ultimate aim is to be at home in one’s body, free of pain, unrestricted and uninhibited and to be one with the nature of oneself, to be total and fulfilled.

Core benefits

  • Increase awareness of your body
  • Promote spine and joint articulation and mobilization
  • Will improve muscular flexibility, extension, contraction and coordination
  • Better energy levels and feeling of self
  • Increases vitality and vigor

What a GYROTONIC® class consists of:

  • Warm-up. Class typically begins with spinal movements and breathing patterns to enhance circulation and body awareness.
  • Move to equipment, often known as the “tower.” You may do a series of movements including arch and curl, hamstrings, upper body and abdominals.,
  • Relaxation and unwinding. Now off the equipment, you will be led through slow spiraling movements and breathing patterns to promote centering of the mind, body and spirit.
  • Progressions. Each class build upon the ones before it. They are like building blocks and you will progressively add more and more to your workouts.

GYROKINESIS® is a mat-only workout that uses rhythmic and undulating movements that stimulate the body’s internal organs.

Fluidity is maintained throughout as postures are smoothly connected through the use of breath rather then held for long periods of time.

Seven natural elements of spinal movement are used to work on the entire body: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular, as well as all other joint articulation.
